Lights of Love

Dec 27, 2016

More than 100 people ushered in the holiday season at this year’s Lights of Love tree lighting at Vidant Wellness Center on Dec. 6.

After the welcome and introductions, students from Eastern Elementary School in Greenville, directed by Melissa Coxe, performed special music. The children’s art contest winner was announced before the tree lighting. Congratulations to Eastern Elementary 5th grader Caroline Clark for her beautiful drawing of a snow scene.

Lights of Love is one our community’s most noticeable signs of the holiday season. Originally a tribute to members of Vidant EastCare and their patient, this program has become a shining tribute throughout our region. Each light on the tree represents a gift of love, a special way to express appreciation and gratitude.

This year, 175 people donated to Lights of Love in honor or memory of a family member, friend or colleague. Through their generous contributions, $11,715 was raised to benefit Vidant Cancer Care.
