Advanced Care Planning

Jul 07, 2017

Addressing end-of-life issues is no easy task.

But advanced care planning – specifying how you want to be cared for in your final days – is crucial to ensuring that your wishes will be respected.

Vidant Health hosts frequent Advanced Care Planning sessions to facilitate “the most important conversation we’re not having.” These free workshops take place at locations across the region.

The discussion during an advanced care planning workshop includes the legal, health care and faith aspects of end-of-life planning. This empowers attendees to lead conversations with loved ones about advanced care and provides guidance for the preparation of health care power of attorneys and living wills.

During the session, attendees are also given the opportunity to complete their own advanced care planning documents. Notary and witness services are available at no charge during the final portion of Vidant’s advanced care planning workshops.

Vidant’s Advanced Care Planning events are especially valuable to individuals who want to ensure that their legacies will live on through planned giving.

Vidant Health Foundation’s team is at the ready to help you organize a planned gift that will benefit Vidant Medical Center’s new cancer center, cancer care, cardiovascular care, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, home health and hospice, James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital, Vidant Rehabilitation Center and women’s care.
